The Chhukha Tshechu is a five-day cultural and spiritual festival held at the historic Chhukha Dzong in southwestern Bhutan. The celebration honours Guru Rinpoche, featuring energetic Cham dances performed by monks and villagers that narrate Bhutanese spiritual stories. A highlight of the festival is the unveiling of a massive Thongdrol, believed to bring blessings to all who witness it. Participants and visitors wear traditional Bhutanese clothing, and the combination of the dzong’s striking architecture with the valley’s scenic surroundings creates a warm, festive atmosphere where culture, devotion, and community come together.
