The morning begins with breakfast under the rising sun, marking the start of our journey down to the next stop. The crunch of gravel underfoot marks our long descent from High Camp to Siding Village - a 14km journey (6-8 hours) that feels like traveling through seasons. We exchange crisp mountain air for the earthy scent of damp forests, passing waterfalls cascading over mossy rocks, and farmers tending emerald terraces where potatoes and barley sway in the breeze. The trail's final stretch winds past whitewashed homes with corn drying on their roofs, where curious children peek through carved wooden windows.

At 1,700m, Siding Village wraps us in its gentle embrace. The teahouse owner brings sweet milk tea as we peel off dusty boots, our muscles humming with satisfaction. As firelight flickers against the darkening hills, we savor the deep contentment that comes only after days well walked in the mountains.
